From 14 to 20 November 2015, a dozen Nantes start-ups will travel to Shanghai to meet Chinese investors.

Since 2012, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire metropolitan area has organised yearly promotional trips to Shanghai, the megalopolis of creativity and design.

This year, the emphasis is on digital tech. Besides its dynamism in terms of tech jobs, the Nantes Saint-Nazaire metropolitan area actively supports the development of start-ups internationally.

Certified NantesTech just one year ago, the Nantes delegation, consisting of institutional stakeholders and businesses, will promote the excellence of the tech industry in Nantes Saint-Nazaire.

A dozen or so tech companies are participating in this "Learning Expedition", organized as part of NantesTech's international strategy to explore the Chinese market.

Also joining the trip is the economic development agency Nantes Saint-Nazaire Développement, which will promote, before an audience of Chinese investors (venture capital, businesses, start-ups), the dynamic digital tech sector and more generally the economic attractiveness of Nantes Saint-Nazaire.

A number of special events are scheduled for the businesses:

·         Meeting with investors and presentation of the territory

·         The start-up Lengow will participate in the Acceleratech program, a Chinese immersion and acceleration program for innovative French SMEs.

·         Meeting with former students at the Shanghai campus of the Ecole de Design Nantes Atlantique. The China campus of the Nantes design school opened 5 years ago and trains some forty students each year in design "à la française".
