The engineering cluster Alfadir chose Saint-Nazaire for its first branch in Western France. Alfadir plans to hire a staff of 50 employees within three years.
Headquartered in Bagnols-sur-Cèze in the Gard, Alfadir comprises five SMEs specialized in industrial engineering: ACEPP (Brest), Axeal (Lyon), FADILEC (Lyon), SEI (Lyon) and D&S in Bagnols-Sur-Cèze. Representing more than 400 engineers and technicians, Alfadir offers global solutions to support industrial projects, from design to maintenance.
A collaborative and innovative approach
Formed 10 years ago as a skills cluster to bid on multi-business projects, the group has recently changed its business model to include dedicated resources in Alfadir's organisation: "This allows us to build our own production capacity," says Thierry Matthews, Board Member and also CEO of ACEPP. In 2015, Alfadir and its members earned combined revenue of €37 million.
50 employees in three years
The group has worked for several years with local manufacturers (Airbus, STX, EDF Cordemais, OCEA), directly or through subcontracting, under the Alfadir banner or as separate members. Alfadir is opening its first branch in Western France in Saint-Nazaire, in the Cadréan industrial park (Montoir-de-Bretagne). "Our priority is to establish ourselves permanently as part of the local industrial fabric" says Gildas Guelennoc, director of the branch. "We are going to identify potential complementary activities with local firms to enhance our offering." The branch should have fifty employees within three years.
